4 Ways to Make Collard Greens

I love some collard greens, and I'm so happy that there are so many different ways to prepare them. Now, the way that I've been used to eating them in the South is traditional braised, cooked long and slow on the stove.

But over the years, I found that there are so many different and wonderful ways to enjoy this vegetable. So I'm rounding up all my collard green recipes for you. Whether you want the classic version or something a little different, there's something here you'll love.

Pressure Cooker Collard Greens

This is the one my family requests for every holiday. Smoked turkey, tender greens, and that pot likker? Chef's kiss. And the best part? It's only 35 minutes of pressure cooking time.

Slow Cooker Collard Greens

If you prefer the low-and-slow approach (or don't have a pressure cooker), this one's for you. Just throw everything in the slow cooker and let it work its magic for 6-7 hours. I use bacon grease in this one because I couldn't help myself.

Collard Green Soup

Okay, this soup is a game-changer. Smoked turkey, fire-roasted tomatoes, black-eyed peas, and collards all in one warm, comforting bowl. Pair it with some buttery cornbread and you've got yourself a meal.

Collard Green Salad

Yes, RAW collard greens! I was skeptical too, but this salad with bacon vinaigrette is seriously delicious. The bitter greens pair perfectly with salty feta, sweet carrots, and that warm bacon dressing.

Bonus: How to Cut Collard Greens

I've got a whole guide showing you 4 different ways to cut collard greens, depending on what you're making. Trust me, it makes a difference!

So whether you're looking for a traditional side dish, a hearty soup, or something completely different, there's a collard greens recipe here for you.

Happy Cooking,
