What I'm Making for Thanksgiving This Year

Hi Reader,

Tomorrow's Thanksgiving, and my family does it potluck style.

Everyone brings a few dishes, which means I get to cook what I love without having to make everything.

This year, I'm making some of the Jamaican recipes that I grew up eating around Thanksgiving. So alongside the turkey, mac and cheese, and candied sweet potatoes, we'll have some Caribbean flavors at the table.

Here's what I'm bringing:

๐Ÿ› Curry Goat โ€“ Falls-apart tender meat in a rich, spiced curry sauce. This one takes some time, but it's worth every minute.

๐Ÿš Rice and Peas โ€“ Coconut rice cooked with kidney beans, thyme, and scotch bonnet pepper. The perfect side for soaking up all that curry.

๐Ÿฅฌ Jamaican Steamed Cabbage โ€“ Simple, flavorful, and way better than it sounds. Cabbage cooked down with onions, peppers, and carrots.

๐Ÿบ Ginger Beer โ€“ Homemade, spicy, and refreshing. Not your store-bought kind. It's not fermented, but delicious.

Whether you're sticking with tradition or mixing things up this year, I hope your Thanksgiving is delicious.

Happy Thanksgiving,
