Your Festive Drink Guide Awaits

I've been getting my holiday drink recipes ready, and this year I'm keeping it simple with four favorites that cover all the bases, from big family gatherings to quiet nights in.

Here's what I'm making:

For the Crowd:

Jamaican Sorrel Drink

This was a must for my family every Christmas Holiday. I've recorded a short video of me making it, just to show how easy it is. Think of it like an iced tea, but made with hibiscus petals, whole spices, and ginger. You can find dried sorrel leaves at International markets or online (affiliate link).

Homemade Eggnog

Spiced and velvety. I temper the eggs in this rather than using raw eggs, and we love love love this version. Make it spiked, or not, and it's still so good! I've also recorded a short video of this homemade eggnog.

Homemade Apple Cider

Made from scratch with real apples and warming spices. Your house will smell amazing while it simmers. I make this for all the Holidays, from Thanksgiving to Christmas. It's a family favorite! I've also recorded a short video of this homemade apple cider.

For Two:

Homemade Hot Cocoa

I like having hot cocoa and making a smaller batch for cozy nights in. This recipe makes 2 servings, because most of the time, it's just me and one of the folks in my house who wants hot cocoa at a time. However, feel free to scale up the recipe for more. And you guessed it, I have a short video for this cocoa as well.

I must love recording short videos of my favorite Holiday drinks lol.

Whether you're hosting a party or want something warm to sip, these have you covered.

Happy Cooking,

Tanya

grits casserole lifted up on spoon

Hi Reader, I love grits. It's not something I really grew up eating, but I fell in love with them when I moved to North Carolina. Especially grits with some kind of breakfast meat. Usually bacon for me, but I wanted to make something special for holiday mornings. Something you can prep for a crowd without spending all morning in the kitchen. chocolate gravy being poured over biscuit

Hi Reader, Chocolate is probably my favorite dessert out there. So when I realized I could have it for breakfast in the form of gravy, I knew I'd found something special. This breakfast-style gravy is nothing new, but once I learned about it, I had to add it to my recipe repeaters. My daughter raved about how much she loved it, and honestly, I get it, this gravy is rich, chocolatey, and perfect when served over warm biscuits. pot roast meat and vegetables in slow cooker

Hi Reader, I pick up a chuck roast from Costco pretty regularly, and this slow cooker pot roast has become one of my favorite ways to use it. You do a little work in the morning, then the slow cooker does everything else while you go about your day. The meat comes out so tender it practically falls apart, and those carrots and potatoes soak up all that rich, savory flavor.
