Your Festive Drink Guide Awaits

I've been getting my holiday drink recipes ready, and this year I'm keeping it simple with four favorites that cover all the bases, from big family gatherings to quiet nights in.

Here's what I'm making:

For the Crowd:

Jamaican Sorrel Drink

This was a must for my family every Christmas Holiday. I've recorded a short video of me making it, just to show how easy it is. Think of it like an iced tea, but made with hibiscus petals, whole spices, and ginger. You can find dried sorrel leaves at International markets or online (affiliate link).

Homemade Eggnog

Spiced and velvety. I temper the eggs in this rather than using raw eggs, and we love love love this version. Make it spiked, or not, and it's still so good! I've also recorded a short video of this homemade eggnog.

Homemade Apple Cider

Made from scratch with real apples and warming spices. Your house will smell amazing while it simmers. I make this for all the Holidays, from Thanksgiving to Christmas. It's a family favorite! I've also recorded a short video of this homemade apple cider.

For Two:

Homemade Hot Cocoa

I like having hot cocoa and making a smaller batch for cozy nights in. This recipe makes 2 servings, because most of the time, it's just me and one of the folks in my house who wants hot cocoa at a time. However, feel free to scale up the recipe for more. And you guessed it, I have a short video for this cocoa as well.

I must love recording short videos of my favorite Holiday drinks lol.

Whether you're hosting a party or want something warm to sip, these have you covered.

Happy Cooking,

Tanya

pepper steak in plate

Hi Reader, I've been sharing a few quick stir-fry recipes that we love, and this Jamaican Pepper Steak is one of them. The beef is seasoned with allspice and all-purpose seasoning, seared until browned, then combined with bell peppers, thyme, ginger, green onion, and a savory sauce. Pepper Steak Recipe What I love about this one is the flavor combination. It's a stir fry at heart, but the seasoning is unmistakably Caribbean. That allspice and thyme with the soy sauce and ginger is such a good...

country style ribs on plate with green beans and mashed potatoes

Hi Reader, I love BBQ. Not just in the summer when everyone's grilling outside, but year-round. There's something about that smoky, sweet, sticky sauce that I love no matter what month it is. These country-style ribs give you all that BBQ goodness without dealing with a grill in February weather. Country Style Ribs Recipe The technique is simple: low and slow in the oven. You season them, cover them with foil, and cook them at 300°F for over two hours. Then brush them with BBQ sauce, increase...

braised lamb in plate

Hi Reader, I'm a fan of the Cava restaurant, where they have the most flavorful braised lamb bowls with all those fresh toppings and sauces. This is not their exact braised shredded lamb recipe (I don’t know what they put in theirs), but this one? Oh my goodness. It’s so good. This braised lamb has become one of my favorite recipes to make when I want something I can stretch. I cook a big batch, use it in bowls for a few days, and freeze the rest for later. It’s one of those base recipes that...
