New Orleans BBQ shrimp (and it's not what you think)

Hi Reader,

We spent spring break in New Orleans and had the best time. A gator tour, more food than I can list, and a whole lot of walking it off after.

The BBQ shrimp stuck with me. It's not actually barbecued. It's jumbo shrimp simmered in a buttery, garlicky, Worcestershire-spiked sauce, and you eat it with crusty bread for soaking up every last bit of that sauce.

Nothing sweet, nothing sticky, just bold Louisiana flavor in one skillet.

๐Ÿด Get the recipe: New Orleans BBQ โ€‹Shrimp. If this one puts you in a Louisiana mood, here are a few more from the blog to keep it going:

๐Ÿด Cajun Jambalaya โ€” my brown jambalaya, no tomatoes

๐Ÿด Red Beans and Rice โ€” slow-simmered and worth every minute

๐Ÿด Cajun Broiled Shrimp - so fast, easy, and delicious

I make the BBQ shrimp in my enameled cast iron skillet, and it holds the heat just right for that sauce. Here's the one I used if you want a recommendation.

Happy Cooking,

cooked salmon in air fryer basket

Hi Reader, This air fryer salmon has been one of my most popular recipes for a while, and for good reason. Salmon in the air fryer is not only so easy to make, but the way the outside gets perfectly crisp while keeping the inside juicy and flaky is pure magic. It comes together so fast, and it's so good over rice (y'all know I love some rice) with a side of vegetables. For long weekends, especially if we're having people over, I like to have some go-to recipes that I can easily throw together. The meat Slow Cooker Pulled Pork is the one I make most. Pork shoulder, 8 hours on low, and it shreds with a fork. If you are short on time, the North Carolina Instant Pot Pulled Pork gets you there in about 90 minutes. chicken breast in stainless steel skillet

I'm usually a chicken thighs girl, but every now and then chicken breast makes it into my dinner rotation. There are so many good ways to cook chicken breast and still keep it flavorful and juicy rather than dry and eww. Here are the ones I come back to. Pan seared chicken breast Takes about ten minutes in a pan. I like to serve it with sides like rice and sautรฉed spinach.
